Along the same lines as the Thanksgiving Dinner Sign-up Sheet post, I want to point out another potential use of OurTaskLists that might not immediately cross your mind: Christmas wish lists!

Do you have a son or daughter with a mile long list of things they want for Christmas and a “team” of family members wondering what to get them? OurTaskLists would be a perfect solution. Not only would it be a perfect solution to keep the list organized, but you could have family members “reserve” items that they want to purchase to eliminate duplicate gifts!

Here’s what our family did:

1. Create a list for each child titled “[child’s name] Christmas Wish List”
2. Enter in a description that helps the family members understand what to do
3. Due date: Dec 25, 2007 ;)
4. Add each gift as an item on the list, providing a link to the gift in the notes, if desired
5. Click the “Public link to this list” and copy the public link
6. Paste the link into an email to the entire extended family
7. Collect praises from family for being so organized!

That’s it. Everyone will love you for eliminating the guess work.
